How does the school communicate with parents?

In general the school uses emails whenever possible because they are cost-effective.  We encourage parents and carers to provide us with an email address, however, we will provide paper copies of letters, etc, where no email address available. The system is set up in such a way that one email will be sent to each household. There is provision for non-residential parents to receive communications from the school, by both email and paper and parents should contact the Main Office. Texts will only be sent in urgent situations.

The school communicates with parents via a weekly School News email which keeps parents up to date current and forthcoming events. Archived copies the weekly School News can be found on the website under News/Emailed School News .

It is important that our contact details for parents and carers are up to date, so please ensure that you inform us of any changes.

Why does my child need a detention?

Students are expected to maintain good standards of behaviour both at School and when travelling to and from School. Student guidelines are based on safety and common sense. If a student finds it impossible to remain within the bounds of the school procedures, they will be drawn into a system of sanctions. We reserve the right to detain a student for up to 15 minutes on any day without notice. If a student is detained after school for more than 15 minutes, parents will be given 24 hours notice. The notice given will be verbal to the student concerned and in addition parents will be notified by letter or email. Detentions can take place on any day. At this detention students will be detained for up to one hour from the time they arrive at the detention room.
