Worthing High School

Worthing High School

Non uniform day Friday 14 February 2020

The school will be holding a non-uniform day on Friday 14 February 2020 prior to half term.

A contribution of at least £1 is asked of students, and the money raised will be donated to Worthing Mencap, a local charity championing the rights of people with Learning Disabilities and their families directly improving the facilities and opportunities available to them. They provide services to people in Worthing and the surrounding areas, this includes the areas of Arun and Adur. They were established in 1958 by a group of parents wishing to improve the services available to people with learning disabilities in the area. Their vision is simple, to help enable people with learning difficulties lead full and independent lives. More information about this charity can be found by following this link: https://www.worthingmencap.org/

Students should observe the following:

  • Students can wear any suitable non-uniform, although fancy dress will not be permitted.
  • Whilst students are allowed to wear non-school uniform, usual standards regarding jewellery, make up and suitable hair styles and colours will still be in place.

We would like students to bring in their cash donations only (minimum of £1.00) the week leading up to the 14th February and hand them to their Form Tutors. This ensures that all contributions are collected and accounted for in advance of the day. I would like to emphasise to students that normal lessons will take place and therefore items and styles of an inappropriate nature will not be permitted and this does include hair dye.

We are very grateful for your support in raising funds for this very important charity.

 Kind regards
