Worthing High School

Non-Uniform Day Thursday 20 October 2022

Dear Parents and Carers,

The school will be holding a non-uniform day on Thursday 20th October 2022 prior to half term.

A contribution of at least £1 is asked of students, and the money raised will be donated to Turning Tides (https://www.turning-tides.org.uk), Turning Tides provides a range of homeless support services in West Sussex, covering Adur and Worthing, Littlehampton, Horsham District and Mid Sussex. Every year they accommodate over 200 homeless people in 20+ properties across the county. They develop and deliver person centred services, empowering people to have the confidence and resilience to move on from homelessness.

Students should observe the following:

  • Students can wear any suitable non-uniform.
  • Whilst students are allowed to wear non-school uniform, usual standards regarding jewellery, make up and suitable hair styles and colours will still be in place.
  • Students that have P.E on the day may wear non-uniform but must have appropriate footwear for a P.E lesson.

We would like you to donate via wisepay (minimum of £1.00) the week leading up to the 20th October or students to bring in their cash donations and hand them to their Form Tutors. This ensures that all contributions are collected and accounted for in advance of the day. I would like to emphasise to students that normal lessons will take place and therefore items and styles of an inappropriate nature will not be permitted and this does include hair dye.

We are very grateful for your support in raising funds for this very important charity.

Kind regards

Mr T Izod
