Worthing High School

Curriculum Choices Evening Year 9

Thursday 23 January at 5.45pm for a 6.00pm start in the Millennium Hall.

Year 9 students have reached an exciting phase in their time at Worthing High School and this term they have some very important decisions to make which will affect their future, both at school and beyond. During this half-term they will be asked to make guided choices about the subjects they would like to study over the next two years.

The Curriculum Choices Evening for parents will be held on Thursday 23 January at 5.45pm for a 6.00pm start in the Millennium Hall. As they arrive students will be given a letter outlining the choices they have, a booklet giving the full details of the courses available and guidance on how to complete their online preference form.

There will be two formal presentations – 6:00-6:20pm and 6:30-6:50pm, please can I ask that you use the appropriate link at the bottom of this page to book the session that best suits you.

During the presentation session you will hear more about the ‘pathway’ your child has been put on for Key Stage 4 and the range of choices they have. The rest of the evening will be in the Sports Hall, where you will have the opportunity to talk to teacher’s about the subjects on offer. This part of the evening will open at 6pm and does not need booking.

We strongly recommend that you and your child attend this evening. Students will need to complete their online preference form by Friday 7 February.

Following the Curriculum Choices Evening should you have any further concerns relating to the ‘pathway’ that we have recommended for your child, or any of the courses on offer, please direct your questions or comments to your child’s form tutor or Mr Morris, the Year 9 Progress Leader.

We look forward to seeing you on Thursday 23 January. Thank you for your continuing support.

Yours sincerely

Mr A Cook

Deputy Headteacher
