Changing Room and Rest Room Refurbishment
Students at Worthing High School had regularly fed back, through tutor time, parent meetings and School Council their reluctance to use the school toilet facilities due to their unsafe, enclosed layout, poor condition and prominent odours.
In addition the boys changing rooms had similar design flaws which restricted its use and caused safeguarding issues. The main issue was the presence of a central shared shower facility which restricts staff’s ability to have a full view of the area and was not used by the students.
In May 2018 we obtained a grant for £400k to complete the project.
The two refurbished washroom areas and boys changing room were completed by February half term 2019.
